Our talented students work hard to fill their books every day. If you have a specific day or time in mind, be sure to call in advance to secure a spot. We don’t want anyone to miss out on their appointment of choice. Remember that you can always make changes if you need to.
Student stylists take longer than professional stylists to achieve the high quality services our guests are used to. In order to have the best experience with a student stylist make sure to confirm the duration of your appointment at booking and be prepared to accommodate your full service time.
As a learning institution we pride ourselves on our high level of service while building long-lasting relationships with both students and guests. To continually ensure everyone’s satisfaction and safety, all guests are asked to read and sign our guest waiver before being serviced. Minors must be accompanied by an adult until the consultation is complete.
Just as a painter needs to see their canvas in order to create beautiful paintings, a colourist will need to see your hair - its texture, density and porosity – before knowing if they can create your desired look. Whether you have a very specific colour in mind, a time frame to work within, or a budget to stick to, come in for a consultation before your appointment to ensure you have the best possible experience.
We feel strongly about protecting the integrity of your hair and while Aveda’s hair colour is up to 96% naturally derived, it may also require multiple services to achieve your desired look. Aveda hair colour services may not be for everyone, so new guests are encouraged to book a complimentary patch test prior to colour appointments. Our Guest Services experts have a lot of information for you, but you should also speak with your family doctor if you have specific questions about potential risk of permanent hair colour use!
Our instructors are always present to supervise student services, and frequency of instructor check-ins varies as students’ progress throughout the program. Should questions or concerns arise guests are welcome to consult with the instructor at any time during their service.
Our students depend on guest appointments for the practice they need to strengthen their skills. We understand that things can come up at the last minute, so as often as possible we ask that all guests provide at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. Repeated last minute cancellations may require pre-payment for future bookings.
We all know how hard it is to make ends meet while in school – so we feel it’s only fair that students should be eligible for gratuities just like our stylists are. If you enjoy your services with our talented students, feel free to leave your student stylist a tip upon check out.
We appreciate that sometimes it might feel uncomfortable to tell a stylist that you’re not 100% satisfied with their work. Part of the learning process for our students is how to communicate with guests when things don’t go as planned, and how to correct a service properly. Please let us know if you’re not feeling your new look and we’ll do everything we can to help make it right.
